Li River @ Guilin China 雲煙桂林

Cruising down the Li River in Guilin, China is one of the most serene experiences I ever had. The unique peak formation on both side of the river, the rice fields, the fishermen, the flowing water, and the mist setting in the valleys took my breath away. I did this painting for my dear friend, Chuli, to wish her a happy birthday (I won't tell you how young she is).

Oil, 5x7, private collection

My parents cruising down the Li River 20 years ago and they had a beautiful picture taken with the unique Guilin rock formation as background. I love the misty Li River under your paint brush, so calm and peaceful. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift. It is hanging in my bath room where I will see it many times a day.
