Landa Park, New Braunfels TX

Landa Park is located in the downtown of New Braunfels. This is one of the most beautiful parks in the south Texas. It has a natural spring river flowing through the park as you see in this painting. It is a lovely place to have picnic with family and friends. Kids love to ride the mini-train and feed the ducks. Doing the peddle boat on the lake is another fun thing to do.

Red Scarf

One early morning in Copper Canyon (Mexico) while we were getting ready heading home, I saw this cute little indian girl. She was sitting on the ground by her grandma who was selling blankets and baskets. Her face looked so precious and lit beautifully by the morning sun. This was a picture perfect for an artist to paint. The red scarf and blue shawl were just wonderful to keep her warm in the cold morning breeze.

Contemplation in Copper Canyon

I met this Indian girl, Ardina, at the Balance Rock of Copper Canyon in Mexico. She was selling the Indian jewelry in this beautiful rocking area overseeing the canyon. The sunlight shining on her face and her beautiful yellow skirts yielded an exciting picture for me to paint. The Indians in Copper Canyon live a very tough life. Women are the ones taking care of the children and daily living for the household. They make jewelries and baskets to sell to the tourists while the men enjoy drinking. Ardina was contemplating about her sales for the day and where her future will hold. I sincerely wish her well in life.

Catch me if you can

I've lived in Texas for more than 30 years. The western scene with horses and cowboys is one of the favorite subjects on my canvas. The composition of 7 horses and 2 cowboys looks pretty good to me. Do you think the cowboys can catch these horses? Original Oil, 12x24

After the Rain, Bologna Italy

It was raining when we arrived at Bologna, the heart of Tuscany. After the rain stopped we strolled on the street to check out the markets. The stores and open stands sell variety of produce, cheese, and meats. My niece, Jinyi, bought some cherries from one of the stands - they were very juicy and sweet. I love the building architecture in Italy as shown here a typical Italian alley. The street in this painting looked very interesting after the rain wtih water reflection. How many people can you find in this painting?

Lindsay

We took an 11-day Italian Discovery Tour in May 2008. Lindsay, my daughter-in-law, was standing by the window of the palace on Isola Bella Island in Lake Maggoire. This lake, bordered by Elps in the north, is extremely gorgeous and a place we would want to visit again. The great Napolean and his lover Josephina had stayed in this palace during his time. They preserved the bed where they slept on in the palace. The graden was well landscaped with variety of beautiful flowers, plants, and 2 gorgeous pure white peacocks walking around.

Running in the Sunset

This is one of the three horse paintings hung in our family room. It implies my hard working life in Texas just like these running horses. I love to paint running horses; they gave me a sense of freedom. I can run as fast and far as I can in life.
