I met this Indian girl, Ardina, at the Balance Rock of Copper Canyon in Mexico. She was selling the Indian jewelry in this beautiful rocking area overseeing the canyon. The sunlight shining on her face and her beautiful yellow skirts yielded an exciting picture for me to paint. The Indians in Copper Canyon live a very tough life. Women are the ones taking care of the children and daily living for the household. They make jewelries and baskets to sell to the tourists while the men enjoy drinking. Ardina was contemplating about her sales for the day and where her future will hold. I sincerely wish her well in life.Oil on canvas board, 20x16.
